Greetings everyone! I was recently bequeathed an unused Montblanc Meisterstück fountain pen. The nib reads: "4810 14K MONTBLANC 585" and the casing is black with gold trim. It is a beautiful instrument and I would like to keep it that way as I begin to use it. Therefore, I am wondering if anyone here might be able to offer some general advice on the following topics:
1. How do I refill the pen? 2. How can I best care for the pen and nib? 3. The box it comes in is too bulky to carry around. Should I get a slim leather holder to carry the pen around in, or is it okay in a pocket? If the former, any recommendations on cases or pen holders? 4. How long will a Montblanc nib last if well taken care of? 5. How much writing can I expect to get per refill? 6. I have the feeling that I am already becoming a fountain pen addict before even having used it! Where can I expect to go from here to explore other great fountain pens and makers?
If you take care and mind the instructions for use, your fountain pen will last a lifetime. What I have read on the montblanc homepage considering the cleaning advices is that the pen should be cleaned approximately every three month. For the cleaning you should use only warm water without any additives. The body and cap should be cleaned with cold water, it says.
Personally, I find the kubotan useful for non compliance situations. Certain pressure points are more effective than others to control an individual.
However....
If the intent is for self defense, I would abandon the compliance aspect all together.
You are in defense of your life...why mess around and give an opportunity of attack? If you going to use a kubaton to defend your life...kill the bastard with it or make every attempt to do so until the threat is gone.
attacking a non vital pressure point in defense of your life will do nothing more than indicate to your adversary that his life is now in danger and he will respond accordingly.
Why give him that chance?
When the individual has recognized that there is a true immanent threat to one's life ...use deadly force...
respond accordingly until the threat is gone....Skull, neck, or if you can, drive it through the sternum or spine if it's pointy enough.
In order to be effective one needs to be brutal under such circumstances.
